OikoDiplomatique provides advocacy and strategic accompaniment to faith communities, ecumenical bodies and civil society organizations across Africa. Our work strengthens their ability to engage effectively in peacebuilding, environmental stewardship and transformative dialogue in contexts of conflict and ecological crisis.

What We Do

We work with partner to deliver the following services:

  • Provide high-level advocacy and diplomatic engagement to support faith-based and civil society actors working on peacebuilding, reconciliation, environmental restoration and conflict transformation.
  • Create safe and inclusive spaces where faith communities, Indigenous Peoples, local communities and civil society actors can meet to exchange perspectives and collectively discern pathways toward restoring ecosystems, sustaining livelihoods and living in dignity.
  • Facilitate dialogue across generations and faith traditions to address pressing challenges such as climate change, environmental degradation, youth marginalization, radicalization, and religious extremism.
  • Support the recognition and transmission of indigenous and traditional knowledge systems, including long-standing practices for caring for the land, resolving conflict, and nurturing harmony between communities and nature.
  • Promote the shared responsibility of communities, institutions, and leaders to protect ecosystems, restore degraded landscapes, and respond to environmental destruction affecting vulnerable populations.
